For Sale: Yaesu FT-890AT HF rig. Includes built-in antenna tuner, MARS/CAP
mod, box, manual, registration card (never filled out), and original invoice.
Paid $1199.00 new. Rarely used due to the fact that I can't put an antenna
up and I don't use it mobile. In fact, probably only used 5 times.
Will sell for $999 including UPS shipping. Email paulf@use.com or call
317-290-5207 (voicemail) if you have no Email access.

Has anyone got the Software, FPT address for software, for control of
the above radio from a PC-Clone. I have got a copy of ICOM.C from the
simtel colection but there apears to be other files needed to compile it.
Thanks on behalf of G8TVO, in anticipation of a reply.

Thanks for the information, Andrew. Gary in the previous post says that
the w2a is being discontinued...could be a problem in the future for power
connector accessories.

Hello All!
I've just purchased a new Icom IC-2700H dual band mobile rig. Does
anyone have any extended RX/TX mods available? I'm interested in
accessing my commercial repeater in the 138/142MHz region.
Thanx a bunch in advance!!!

Subject: Radio Shack Frequency Counter Info
To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu
I own the Radio Shack Frequency Counter and it works fine
for scanner enthusiasts and it is only 99$. Features are lacking on it. My
only complaint is that there is no hold button. It is hard
to remember the freq. it counted before it disappears. The
only features that it has is you can select the gate time
fast or slow the faster it drops a decimal example....
870.3451 on slow gate or 870.345 on fast gate. It should
not mater if you are using it as a scanner tool. You can
also select the input type 50 ohm or Hi-Z. Hi-Z is used
for hooking it to the output of an oscilloscope. I have
had great fun with my counter. Especially when you are
driving and you see some one on there cell phone. You pull
up next to them and turn on the frequency counter. You
wait for it to register the cell frequency and then punch
it in to the scanner it is laughs. It works great for
finding those unknown frequencys. People do find it quit
strange that you are following them with this strange
device. I will include the Frequency Counters
Specifications they are as follows...........

Does anyone know anything about the RF output module in

I spoke to my buddy who has had a deposit down on the 310 for 1-1/2
years...he agrees that Herb is a great guy...and is to be trusted.
It is true that the prototype exists...but the one you worked will
not be the one delivered.

It is true that Herb *continues* to advertise the phantom 310...
apparently the *new* digital domain (as opposed to the analog
design of the 210) was improperly engineered and ended up with
lots of birdies....and had to be redesigned...hence the unbelievable
delays.
Perhaps advertising dollars are short and that is why the ad now only
appears in CQ magazine. :^) On the other hand, maybe QST quietly
told them to stop advertising until it ships? Wh knows? But I
do know that CQ will take ad money from anyone...like that ad in there
for a box that will match any antenna to 50 ohms without any tuning
adjustment (i.e. an encapsulated 50 ohm resistor according to ARRL's
xray technician). ;^)
